The WAAT4 Challenge is a 40k (approx.) team navigation challenge, based in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. The event is the brainchild of Gary Philpott, Divisional Training Officer for Dyfed-Powys Police. The inaugural event was held on 20th June 2009 and was a huge success with 54 teams entering and over £20,000 being raised for the Wales Air Ambulance, the supported charity for 2009.
Dyfed Powys Police, Powys Division have not been resting on their laurels and after a review of the 2009 event have made some small but significant changes which are sure to improve what was already a fantastic event. Working with partnership agencies it is hoped that the success from last year can exceed all expectations and raise as much money as possible for worthy causes with in the UK 3 of which are; Help for Heroes, Wales Air Ambulance and Brecon Mountain Rescue.
